Five years ago, director Balaji Tharaneetharan made a promising debut with Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie in the lead roles. It was a milestone in Vijay Sethupathi’s career and since then his career graph rose sky high. Now, rumours are rife that Vijay Sethupathi and Balaji Tharaneetharan are coming together for the second time. A source says, “It is true that the duo has signed a project together and they have titled Seethakathi. The makers are now finalising the rest of the cast and crew. An official announcement regarding the film will be out on Friday.”
Seethakathi is the name of a popular scholar and wealthy philanthropist from the 1950s. But, sources reveal that the film is not a biopic of the scholar. While Sethupathi is busy with a slew of films, it is unclear when he will start shooting for this project. Meanwhile, Balaji Tharaneetharan’s second film Oru Pakka Kathai, starring Kalidas Jayaram and Megha Akash, is still eyeing a proper release date.
