Varalaxmi makes her debut in Malayalam cinema
After her powerhouse performance in Bala’s Tharai Thappattai, Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar is making her debut in Malayalam alongside Mammootty. Titled Kasaba, the movie is directed by Nithin Renji Panicker, son of writer-actor-filmmaker Renji Panicker.
Talking to DC, Varu says, “I essay a character which has grey shades. It is a highly powerful role and it was great sharing the screen with Mammootty sir, although I don’t play his pair. For that matter, he is a police officer and is single in the movie.” The bubbly actress says that it was good fun working with the team. “In Mollywood, they shoot quickly. We recently wrapped up the film in a short time,” she quips.
Ask her about reports suggesting that she has been roped in for a Tamil movie directed by Gautham (an assistant to Mysskin) opposite Nivin Pauly, and pat comes her reply, “It’s all in a premature stage and I don’t want to comment on that.”
