Monal Gajjar, who was last seen in Vanavarayan Vallavarayan is finally back to Tamil cinema after a hiatus of two years. Though the actress has been receiving offers from several directors, she wants to choose roles which are interesting and challenging to her.
Rumours were abuzz that she has been roped in to play the heroine in Neeyum Naduvula Peyum starring RK and Vadivelu. However, Monal denies saying that nobody has approached her so far. “I don’t know how this news surfaced as there were no such developments,” she starts her conversation.
Currently, the actress is busy with her Gujarati projects. She says, “It’s my mother tongue and I have already completed four movies and two more are lined up for 2017. I am getting to play exciting roles in Gujarati films and I am happy about the way my career is shaping.”
She also has Soundarya Rajinikanth’s Velayilla Pattadhari 2. “It was amazing to work with Soun-darya, Dha-nush and Amala Paul. I shot my portions for two days and was able to develop a good rapport with all of them in a short time. I am waiting for a call from the makers for my next schedule,” she quips.
Monal is quite excited about this year for the kind of films coming her way. “I am currently shooting for a Gujarati film, which is based on a novel. A majority of the portions are being shot in the middle of a dense forest. It is physically taxing but I am enjoying the process. I am also starting my next project in March,” she concludes.
