Chennai Engira Madras, a pilot film directed by Aravind Kumar, was launched recently by actor Suriya on his Twitter handle and it has won a lot of appreciation already for the novelty present in it. Celebrities including Superstar Rajinikanth, Suriya, Thanu, Madhan Karky and a few more, lauded the filmmaker for its making and the concept.

Rajinikanth, who watched CEM’s pilot at his residence, praised the concept saying, “I am surprised to know that this is not a trailer of an actual feature film. And it’s just a trial attempt to make it big as a feature film. I wish that the story should turn in to a big film with noted actors working in it.” The Enthiran star has also appreciated the team’s hard work and was impressed with the idea of an undercover investigative journalist as the primary theme in CEM.

Shot extensively in live unseen locations of north Chennai, the pilot is inspired from true events based on underworld crimes and journalism. The cast includes actor Subhalekha Sudhakar, Moonar Ramesh, Mime Gopi, Gowrishankar, Prashanth Bala, Raja, Dhiiran, Jones and Karthik a seven-year-old boy from north Chennai. Five music composers, Sundar Murthy, Inbaraj, Subhash, Khashish Verma and Parsa will create the tracks and tunes and the pilot will be pitched at big production houses.
