A super busy year for Srushti Dange
Srushti Dange has had a busy 2016, with four releases and seven projects all set to release in 2017. The dimpled beauty is now taking a short break after acting continuously in Tamil and Telugu. As she is shooting for an untitled Telugu film for SVK productions, she takes out time to talk about her career, her new characters and future plans.
Srushti tells us, “I essayed the role of a Christian lady in Dharmadurai. The film’s response gave me the much-needed push and I’ve been getting good offers now. From mid-2015 to mid-2016, I kept shooting for various films and I never got to spend time with my family. I am on a short break now and am planning it to take it slow hereafter and choose scripts wisely.”
The actress doesn’t seem to have second thoughts on being part of multi-starrers — “Of all the films I have been a part of, I make it a point to attempt something different. Audiences have been so kind and have been calling me by my on-screen character names. As long as they remember my characters, I think I have achieved something,” she explains.
On talking about her upcoming films, she quips, “I play a Malayali Muslim in Udhayanidhi starrer Saravanan Iruka Bayamen, directed by Ezhil. I appear in the flashback portions and even though the film has Regina Cassandra as one of the leads, I have a separate track. In Vijay Vasanth’s Achamindri, I play a modern woman, unlike my old films. This film is a proper commercial entertainer. In Kaalakoothu, I play a slum dweller. The film will focus on two parallel love stories.”
