Ever since actress Gautami announced that she and her partner of 13 years, Kamal Haasan have split, fingers were pointed at Shruti Haasan for being the reason behind the break-up. But Gautami, has now said in one of her public appearances that neither Shruti nor Akshara were the reason behind the split.
“Having been a part of the film industry for nearly 20 years, I have been working all the time. And when it’s time for a transition in life, some pain is inevitable. I want to spend more time with my daughter and think about her future,” she said, adding that she’s always wanted to be transparent and hence made the announcement. “It could have been hidden if I wanted to,” she said.
When quizzed about Shruti’s hand in the break-up, Gautami quickly said, “Shruti and Akshara are surely not a reason for me taking such a big decision. “I don’t think I have the right to oppose them in any way. In fact, I have only supported both of them in whatever they wanted to do, especially if it was required from me.”
