In one of her tweets, singer Chimayi had alleged that she had been asked by the event organiser of Veezhamaattom album launch in Switzerland to visit Vairamuthu in his hotel room. “I asked why. He told me to cooperate. I refused. We demanded to be sent back to India. He said, ‘You won’t have a career!’.
Suresh, the organiser of the event, has rejected the singer’s allegation. In a video statement he said, “I had hosted Chinmayi and her mother in my house, while Vairamuthu was put up at hotel 100 kms away. There is no way that any such incident could have happened. The concert took place on a Sunday. After the concert ended, Vairamuthu left on Monday, Chinmayi and her mother left a week later.”
Suresh added that Vairamuthu had been to Switzerland thrice and it is very difficult to meet him as he prefers to stay alone and comes there to enjoy nature. He further warned the singer saying that while it will be easy for someone of Vairamuthu’s stature to overcome such false allegations given the belief in his innocence, the claims made by the singer had made Tamils all over the world extremely angry. “I request Chinmayi to stop false allegations at once,” Suresh concluded.
