Krisha Kurup bags a key role in a thriller

Directed by SK Madhi, the film has Sathish of Azhagi fame playing the hero.

Remember Krisha Kurup, the pretty girl who played a pivotal role in Azhagu Kutti Chellam? Well, she is now the lead heroine in an upcoming edge-of-the-seat thriller, Kootali. Directed by SK Madhi, the film has Sathish of Azhagi fame playing the hero.

“I have already played the lead in a Malayalam film, but this is my first big role in Tamil, and I am really excited that we are making a good movie. Kootali will be a quality film,” she explains, adding, “The film has about eight characters, and mainly revolves around four friends. My entry into their lives will be the turning point in the plot — and what follows will make for a thrilling treat,” she reveals.
Speaking about her co-actors and the crew, she affirms, “Director Madhi’s storytelling is magnetic as he pulls you into the script. He is an actor too; and before every shot he enacts the scene, even voicing the background sounds.”

As talks veer towards co-star Sathish, she asserts, “Initially, we had inhibitions about talking to each other, but later I found him to be very friendly. He is a very kind human being. This will turn out to be a good start for him as well.” she says.
She heaps praises on Chennai and the Tamil film industry — “My roots are from Kerala, but I am a proper Mumbaikar, and I am already in love with Chennai! People are sweet and they don’t bother where you are coming from or about the language you speak. If you are human enough, the city treats you with all respect.”

Talking about her other projects, she quips, “Anthony sir wanted me to play the lead in his next film Saalai, which has been shot entirely in Kashmir. The film is currently in the post-production phase. Other than that, I am in talks for three films but haven’t signed on the dotted lines yet. I am looking forward to working in this industry more.”
