Bollywood beckons Dulquer Salmaan
Dulquer Salmaan, who has swayed the audience with his charismatic smile and realistic performances, is busy with promising projects in both Malayalam and Tamil. Recently, the actor ventured into Tollywood with Mahanati, the biopic of legendary actress Savitri, which is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. The OK Kanmani actor is all set to broaden his market by stepping into Bollywood.
Yes, you heard it right! Dulquer will be making his Bollywood entry in an untitled project bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala. The film is a light-hearted comedy directed by debutant Akarsh Khurana and has story co-written by Hussain Dala who has penned the story of B’town hit films Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and 2 States. When contacted a source close to Dulquer, he said, “Shooting of the movie will go on floors in August and Dulquer will join the sets from September 1. He will begin shooting in Ooty and then few portions will be canned in Cochin. He feels extremely privileged to be part of this venture and to share screen space with the brilliant Irrfan Khan and popular web-series actor Mithila Palkar.”
It is speculated that Abhishek Bachchan was earlier approached for the project, but he couldn’t agree to the offer because of his present commitments.
