A trilingual 3D Ramayana on the cards

On Tuesday, the producer trio apparently finalised a deal for the same.

It looks like the phenomenal success of a high-budget venture like Baahubali has buoyed filmmakers across the country to go for massive projects. While a Malayalam filmmaker has announced a Rs 1000 crore budget trilingual film on the epic Mahabharatha, C. Sundar, a Tamil filmmaker, has also announced a trilingual epic film, Sanghamitra which is being made on an elaborate scale.

In other big news, well-known film producers Allu Aravind, Namit Malhotra and Madhu Mantena, are now set to make the epic Ramayana on a huge scale — a three part venture in 3D format, with a budget of Rs 500 crore.

On Tuesday, the producer trio apparently finalised a deal for the same. No director has been roped in yet, but talks are on with a well-known filmmaker.
Speaking about this development, producer Allu Aravind of Geeta Arts shares,

“The epic Ramayana needs to be told on the big screen in the most magnificent way possible. We are committed to making a spectacular extravaganza.”
Meanwhile, Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus, which has handled the stereo conversion and visual effects for Hollywood flicks like Transformers, X-Men: Apocalypse and The Martian, shares, “There cannot be a better time and opportunity to tell the greatest Indian story to the world in a way that preserves its respect and vision. This teaming up with Allu sir and Madhu has aligned me with great partners who share the same vision and passion to make this a cinematic experience that the entire country can be proud of.”
