Akshay not in Visaaranai remake: Vetrimaaran
This is the latest scoop on the critically acclaimed movie Visaaranai — the work of National Award-winner Vetrimaaran is being remade in Bollywood by none other than ace director Priyadarshan who has bought the remake rights to it and will be wielding the megaphone. Some newspapers were going gaga about top B’town star Akshay Kumar, who was recently roped in for Rajinikanth’s Enthiran 2.0, being brought onboard to play a vital character in the Visaaranai remake.
When DC contacted Vetrimaaran, he did confirm that the film is going to Bollywood. “Yes, Priyadarshan will be directing the Hindi remake, but I never said that Akshay Kumar is working in it. I told a few reporters in Mumbai that the film would be screened for Akki, which has been misconstrued by a few, to mean he will be in the movie. I’m clarifying again that he is not part of the project,” the Aadukalam director says strongly.
