When Venkat Prabhu announces a new film, people are more eager to hear its tagline, rather than its title. Some audience-favourites are – Biryani: A Venkat Prabhu Diet, Goa: A Venkat Prabhu Holiday, and Party: A Venkat Prabhu Hangover.
His upcoming film with Simbu is no exception to that rule. According to the film’s first-look poster released on Tuesday, Maanaadu bears the tagline A Venkat Prabhu Politics, which is causing people to wonder whether the action-thriller has a political angle to it.
The poster also reads “Stand for what is right, even if it means standing alone”, an adage that definitely holds true for STR, who’s raised his voice with regard to various social issues including Jallikattu and the Cauvery water dispute.
