Sreeshanth's love for negative roles
Even though his debut film in Hindi is yet to be released, controversial cricketer Sreeshanth is happy that he is finally making his film debut with Team 5, which will hit the marquee this Friday.
“My dad and sister are actors and my brother is into production. Cinema is not new to me. I have been passionate about films right from my school days. I have watched many Rajini and Kamal sir films,” he claims. The cricketer says he was pushed into a situation where he had to choose between studies, cricket and dance — “I chose cricket and I grew to the level of playing with Tendulkar and went on to be a part of the World Cup winning team! Now due to certain circumstances, I am here in films.”
Sree plays a bike racer and has taken special training in Mumbai. “I am very happy that I am getting launched in Tamil,” he adds.
The actor is open to negative roles, provided they are meaty and powerful. “I don’t have a dream role as such, but I am doing a brilliant negative role in Kempegowda 2 in Kannada. I don’t mind similar characters in Tamil with the likes of Ajith, etc.”
