Don't compare me with my dad: Atharvaa

...says Atharvaa ahead of the release of his upcoming flick Gemini Ganesanum...

Atharvaa Murali is back after a brief hiatus, with a rom-com titled Gemini Ganesanum Suruli Rajanum, which has four heroines — Regina Cassandra, Aishwarya Rajesh, Pranitha Subash and Aaditi Pohankar.

The film, produced by T. Siva, is about the protagonist’s romantic journey in life. Atharvaa shares his experiences of working in the project.

“For me, each film is trial and error. Don’t compare me with my dad — he was different. I can’t imitate his style of acting,” Atharvaa responds to the comment that he is yet to pick up his dad’s trait of realistic acting.

When asked about the best among his four heroines, he says, “All of them were good and the comfort levels were also fine.” He adds, “After I watched Kaakka Muttai, I became a huge fan of Aishwarya’s work. Though I was a bit apprehensive initially, we gelled well.”

The actor explains that they named the film Gemini Ganesan because his dad’s character in the film is a fan of the legendary actor. “GGSR has nothing to do with the life of the late ace actor. The film’s makers have taken permissions and even got an NOC from concerned people. This is a fun-filled comic entertainer.”
He adds that his favourite actress is Nayanthara. Quiz him if he essays Nayan’s younger brother in Imaikka Nodigal, he denies it.

Talking about the project, Aishwarya Rajesh says, “A year back, Ilavarasu sir narrated the story, but after that I didn’t hear from them and thought it was dropped. Seven months later, it was announced with Atharvaa in the lead. One day, producer Siva sir called me, saying there was a character for me in GGSR. I came to know that the role which was narrated to me earlier was given to Pranitha — so I refused.” She continues, “But he insisted that I listen to what he had written. Honestly, the new character was awesome and I could not turn it down.”
