The Film Gypsy (Nomads) in the collaboration of national award winner Raju Murugan and actor Jiiva had created a lot of buzz when it was announced. The aesthetic first look of Gypsy, unveiled Saturday midnight, has gone viral where Jiiva and his animal companions imitate each other with his romantic interest Natasha looking amused.
Talking to DC, Raju said, “It’s a travel story, as we all know nomads do not have a permanent place to stay and wander from one to another. This is one of the looks of Jiiva sir. He has grown long hair for his character of a modern gypsy. He has also learnt to play guitar for the film. This majestic white horse would travel along with him throughout.
Ask him about the references for the looks he says, “I travelled all over India for location hunting. I came across a few nomads in Kashmir, a few in Delhi and in various cities and suburbs. I took some element from everyone.” Though Gypsy is a commercial entertainer, social issues will also be touched upon, he asserts.
