Udhay prays only for films!
Udhayanidhi Stalin, grandson of former CM Kalaignar Karunanidhi, a staunch atheist, also shares the same ideology as his grandfather. He (who does not go to temples in real life) was seen carrying a huge statue of Droupathy Amman statue on his head and going around the entire village for a scene in his upcoming flick Podhuvaaaga En Manasu Thangam! He has also acted the sequence on barefoot, sticking to the script’s demand.
PEMT is directed by Thalapathy Prabhu and produced by Thenandal Movies. Nivetha Pethuraj is paired opposite the Gethu actor in the film. This is not the first time Udhay was seen in devotional sequences. Earlier, he went to the Palani Murugan temple while acting in Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal. And in the recent Saravanan Irukka... the poster had him holding a lance with the backdrop of a temple!
Ask Udhay about his on-screen devotion, and he says, “Reel life is different from real life. I do agree I don’t go to temples. But when it comes to my films, I have to do what the script demands. I just listen to whatever the director says.”
