No gory look for ghosts
Actress Gayathri joins the ghost avatar bandwagon, in a film, Mangalapuram. The movie has Yagavan and Sivaguru as the male leads, while Gayathri and Kamali play the heroines.
Director Gopal says, “The movie is based on a real incident that took place at a zamin palace down south. A newly married couple relocates to a bungalow, where they face supernatural experience every night. How they overcome the ghost forms the rest of this horror thriller.”
Though there are umpteen number of horror films that K’town is witnessing of late, Mangalapuram is different from them, claims the director. “Normally in all other flicks, the ghosts are portrayed as ugly and unattractive faces. Here, Gayathri will be seen in a different light. We don’t show the ghost as such and the screenplay is written in such a manner that the scare factor is brought in through sounds and eeriness.” Ajay Ratnam essays an important role in the film.
