Tamil cinema doyen's book launched

The book by the son of late AV Meyaappan, a titan of the industry in his days, was unveiled recently at an event.

AVM Saravanan, the doyen of Tamil cinema has completed the grand milestone of 60 years in the film industry as a producer, administrator of AVM studio, distributor and exhibitor who has made 125 films in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. To mark this feat, a series of articles titled Naanum Cinemavum and which he wrote for a Tamil newspaper has been compiled as a book.

While veteran Sivakumar released the first set of copies, Nalli Kuppusamy received the same. Others who graced the event include Vairamuthu, Aroordas, producer Suresh, ‘Krishna Sweets’ Murali and SP Muthuraman. Saravanan’s family, including his son MS Guhan and granddaughters Aparna and Aruna were there.
