With the advent of technology and digitalisation, many skilled and talented technicians in Tamil cinema miss recognition. In order to honour the veteran technicians, when the industry is celebrating 100 years of cinema, award-winning filmmaker Jananathan will honour 100 veteran technicians with 100 sovereigns of gold.
The event will take place through his Ulagayutha Foundation, on May 1 (International Workers’ Day or Labour Day). Vijay Sethupathi, who says that he knows the value of technicians, has offered to contribute 100 sovereigns for the cause.
Speaking at the press gathering, the actor said, “Cinema is my family and technicians are my family members. I consider this as the biggest opportunity to show my love and respect towards them.”
