Srija does a Vijayashanthi act
Sri Priyanka, who acted in Kangaroo, was hailed as the next Shoba (the late versatile actress). Later, she rechristened herself as Srija. Now the actress dons the khaki for a movie titled, Miga Miga Avasaram, directed by producer-turned-filmmaker Suresh Kamatchi. The actress, who is excited about sporting a police uniform at this stage in her career, speaks to DC about her role and preparations for the same.
“When Suresh sir approached me for the role of a woman police officer, I was thrilled! I took it as a challenge and I am thankful to the director who had faith in me,” she quips.
When quizzed about the preparations for her role, she explains, “There are no big action scenes. Basically, the action is inbuilt in the script, in the sense that there are fiery dialogues. Rather than using my muscle power, I use my intelligence to solve the cases.”
We also asked Suresh on how he chose Srija, who has a ‘homely look’ for the role of a cop. “I wanted an actress who is a performer for this character from Salem, and Srija fit the role perfectly,” Suresh says.
The movie has Seeman playing a crucial role, besides Harish as the lead protagonist in MMA. The Koneripatti Bridge in Salem is where majority of the portions were shot. Director K Bhagyaraj’s film, Pavunu Pavunu Thaan was also shot there 23 years back. Now, Suresh got special permission to shoot there, since the story revolves around the bridge!
