Ajith in Tamil remake of Pink

Ajith will be seen reprising Amitabh Bachchan’s role in the Tamil remake of Bollywood film Pink, bankrolled by Zee Studios and Boney Kapoor.  H.Vinodh, associated with blockbusters like Sathuranga Vettai and Theeran Adhigaram Ondru, will wield the megaphone.

Shoojit Sircar, Ritesh Shah and Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury wrote the script for Pink, while Aniruddha helmed the project. The 2016 Bollywood courtroom drama and social thriller garnered accolades for highlighting the importance of consent. It also received a  National Award. Pink was also invited to screen at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be confirmed. Though there was a buzz that AR Rahman, who did music for Sridevi’s Mom, would be roped in to compose the music for the Tamil version, an insider reveals that Yuvan Shankar Raja is likely to be the choice.

One may recall how Ajith, a big fan of Sridevi, performed in a cameo appearance in her comeback film English Vinglish without taking any remuneration and reportedly he even flew down for the shooting at his own cost.
