My dream is to act as Pawan Kalyan's sister: Anandhi
Tollywood girl Anandhi made her debut with a Vetrimaaran-produced critically-acclaimed film Poriyaalan, and created a huge buzz with her subsequent Prabhu Solomon’s film Kayal. Despite her calm nature, she is assertive and takes bold decisions — like blasting director Adhik for having narrated a different plot initially for Trisha Illana Nayanthara, while it was actually an adult comedy — and walking out of Atharvaa’s film Gemini Ganesanum Surulirajanum recently, for the makers had hid the fact that there were more than two heroines in the movie!
Speaking about multi-starrers Anandhi says, “I don’t mind working in a two-heroine subject (like in the case of KIK), as long as my role is solid and the directors stick to what they had narrated initially. But in the case of Gemini Ganesanum Surulirajanum, they said it is a two-heroine script — but one more heroine was signed on and I heard yet another actress was to be brought on board. If they had told me that in the first place, I would have taken a different call. Now, I had no choice but to walk out.”
The young actress, who is still pursuing her bachelors in business management, states that she does not consider acting a serious profession. “In a sense, I want to be part of films which are worthy of my work. Otherwise, I am not in a hurry to sign films. I have been a studious person right from my school and have always secured top ranks. Now, I am doing BBA and with the impending exams, my concentration is only on my studies.”
Regarding people calling her ‘chinna Sneha’, she quips, “Undoubtedly, it is a big plus for me. I take it as a compliment as I am an ardent fan of Sneha ma’am and have grown up watching her Telugu films.”
On her favourite hero, she says that all Telugu and Tamil heroes in one way or the other appeal to her — “But my most favourite is Pawan Kalyan garu and I must admit that it is my cherished desire to act in at least one of his films as his sister.” (chuckles)
