An ambitious no-intermission' film!
Director Vijay Sri, who is currently helming an untitled film with Charu Haasan and Janagaraj, is already onto his second venture. He plans to work on a full-length 3D movie that runs for 90 minutes straight!
Speaking to DC, the director says, “This is a horror movie and the pre-production work is going on simultaneously. The specialty of this 3D venture is that the movie will not have any intermission. Most of the theatres get money out of the sale of eatables during the intermission. I wanted to bring in a new concept in Tamil cinema as the attention span of audience have decreased these days.”
Vijay Sri tells us that he took inspiration from Kamal Haasan, “When I wanted to make an ambitious effort, I looked at what Kamal sir did in the past. He made Kuruthi Punal without a song and it became a big hit. I was looking at what Kamal sir didn’t do and picked it up. This will be the first ever Tamil film to have no intermission break.”
The director also reveals that he has approached a popular heroine for the film — “We have initiated talks, but she hasn’t signed on the dotted line yet. The film will make use of motion-capture technology as well. The cast and crew of the film will be announced soon.”
