A dream song in Chrompet
Prashanth G Sekar, former assistant of director Hari, is making his debut with Yaanum Theeyavan, a romantic suspense thriller featuring Ashwin Jerome and Varsha Bollamma in the lead roles.
This film is based on several true incidents. Elaborating, Prashanth told DC, “We have taken the plot of an old criminal case and added our own spin to it. The charcters played by Ashwin and Varsha fall in love and get married to each other. After the marraige, they fall into a trap. How they come out of it forms the crux of the story.”
The debutant director accomplished a mammoth victory by bringing choreographer-actor Raju Sundaram on board as a villain — “When I narrated the story to Raju sir, he asked me if it was a comic villain role. I had to say no, and explained the detailing of his character. When I think of an actor who can play a subtle villain, Raju sir comes to my mind,” he added. Prashanth also revealed that Raju Sundaram has undergone a makeover for this film and popular model Poorthi Pravin has styled him.
When queried about the romantic portions in the film, he quipped, “Our producer asked us if we would want to go to exotic locations to shoot a duet song. However, we wanted to show Chennai in a beautiful manner. So, we picked a location in Chrompet where our dream song is set. This might be the first dream song to be shot in the city!”
