RK Nagar faces issues, release postponed

The movie is directed by Saravana Rajan and has Sana Althaf, Anjana Kirti, Sampath and Inigo Prabhakaran in key roles.

Vaibhav’s political satire RK Nagar produced by his friend and filmmaker Venkat Prabhu, set to hit the marquee on April 12 ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, has been indefinitely postponed. The movie is directed by Saravana Rajan and has Sana Althaf, Anjana Kirti, Sampath and Inigo Prabhakaran in key roles.

Venkat Prabhu, in an earlier interview, had said that RK Nagar is a fun-filled entertainer with a tinge of politics. The director claimed the film is not political but the teaser released suggested a multitude of political events which took place in Tamil Nadu in recent times.

Posting a video on his social media handle, Venkat Prabhu has revealed the reasons for the film’s delayed release. He states that the movie produced along with

Badri Kasturi was ready for release. “Unfortunately it is postponed and that the team is facing a lot of issues due to no mistake of ours. It will get released only after the election is over. We do not want to blame anyone for the delay. I just want to say that the issues would be sorted out soon. There’s no politics in the film and it is not aimed at anyone”.

The director/ producer finished the video in Thala Ajith style with the quote, “Live and Let live”.
