Vijay Sethupathi’s next film, which will see him play the role of a tribal has been titled Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren. The film, which also features Gautham Karthik as another lead is directed by debutant Arumugakumar.
Talking to DC, the director opens up about the relevance of the title in the film, saying, “It is a dialogue in the film which is said at a very important juncture in the story. It leads to a lot of twists, and hence we went for it as the title.”
Talking about the story, Arumugakumar says, “It is a comedy film which has action interlaced in it. Although the story is the same, it’s backdrop is new. The story gradually moves from an urban to a tribal setup. For someone who is modern and from the city, a tribal life almost plays out like a fantasy. The film is based on that.”
Talking about the actors, the director says, “Vijay Sethupathi is an actor who can simply do anything. One can learn so much from him just through interaction. Gautham Karthik is a complete director’s actor who gives his 100 per cent effort in whatever he does.”
Telugu actress Niharika, who happens to be Chiranjeevi’s niece, plays the heroine in Oru Nalla Naal... “40 percent of the film’s shooting has been completed. Now, we will move on to shooting in some deep forest areas,” concludes Arumugakumar.
