The winners of the 10th edition of Norway Tamil Film Festival - Tamilar Awards 2019 - were announced recently. While Mari Selvaraj’s Pariyerum Perumal won the ‘Best Film’ award, Lenin Bharathi bagged the ‘Best Director’ award for Merkku Thodarchi Malai, Vijay Sethupathi got ‘Best Actor’ and Trisha ‘Best Actress’ category for the film 96 directed by Prem Kumar.
While Santhosh Narayanan has been chosen as the ‘Best Music Director’ for Pariyerum Perumal and Vada Chennai, Chinmayi Sripadaa and Antony Dasan won the ‘Best Singer’ female and male respectively.
A ‘Lifetime achievement’ honour was conferred on veteran filmmaker Mahendran and actor Vivekh was chosen for a special award for his social activism. Many others have been selected in various categories.
