Teenager directs movie

Based on a real life incident, the director says the film is on the intense bond shared between a blind father and his young son.

Aadhavan, who is just 17 years old, directs his first film Virudhu (Award), which features 15-year-old Achchyan as the lead protagonist. Based on a real life incident, the director says the film is on the intense bond shared between a blind father and his young son.

“Set against a rural backdrop, a young boy who takes care of his visually impaired dad is a talented singer. A chance watch by a music composer lands him in the film industry. And within a shot period, he reaches the peak in films. But life takes a different route for him,” Aadhavan explains.

Three new girls — Divyadarshini, Anusha and Aishwarya — are being introduced. The movie has been shot extensively in and around Rajapalayam. After a gap, ace composer Dheena is back. “There’s a devotional number hailing Lord Muruga and Amman which will become a super hit song,” Dheena says.
