It was first speculated that Sridevi’s daughter Khushi Kapoor would make her acting debut alongside Akhil Akkineni in the film, which is being helmed by Vikram Kumar of 24 fame. But now it is confirmed that Kalyani Priyadarshan, daughter of popular filmmaker Priyadarshan and yesteryear actress Lissy, is signed on for the female lead role in the film. Talking to DC, Lissy says, “Yes, it is true that she has been roped in for the movie. But, the makers are yet to make an official statement. It is too early to reveal anything about her part in the film.”
Earlier, Kalyani, who has completed her higher studies in New York, was flooded with many acting offers, but she chose to work as an assistant director in the Vikram-Nayanthara film Irumugan. The film, which is produced under Nagarjuna’s production banner, is made with utmost care as the debut film of Akhil turned out to be a damp squib.
