A film about friendship
We know that movies about friendships, if well made, work wonders in K’town. VC Vijayashankar, who has worked as a co-director for many films like Bharathi Kannamma, Azhagi, Marumalarchi, and Autograph, has taken this evergreen topic for his debut venture Oru Kanavu Pole. He has roped in Soundararaja of Sundarapandian fame and Ramakrishnan for the lead roles. Amala, a newbie, will be making her foray as the heroine. National award-winning Malayalam filmmaker and actor Madhupal will also be seen in a pivotal character as well.
Talking about the film, Vijayashankar claims, “OKP will depict the true friendship between a lorry driver (Ramakrishnan) and an aspiring singer. Audiences will be able to relate to the story, which is so far untold in Tamil cinema.” Speaking about the movie, Soundararaja says, “After sharing the screen with Goundamani sir in Enakku Veru Engum Kilaigal Kidayadhu, this is yet another meaty role for me.”
