After 46 years, MGR-Jayalalithaa’s blockbuster hit Maattukkara Velan is being digitalised and given an image makeover with 5.1 surround sound and DI. The new version will be hitting the screens soon.
The songs by KV Mahadevan were the major highlight of the film which had MGR in dual roles. Lakshmi played one of the pairs of the legendary figure.
The movie created a huge record by running for more than 50 days with packed shows in all the theatres back then. The makers, Jayanthi Films, are confident of the film faring well again.
