Several biopics of J.Jayalaithaa, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, are in the pipeline. And there is one more now with filmmaker Jagadhishwara Reddy, who claims to have been Jaya’s close aide, announcing his film interestingly titled SasiLalitha.
Talking about the film, Jagadhishwara Reddy tells DC, “Being the president of Tamil Nadu Telugu Yuva Sakthi, I know the hardships Jaya Amma has faced and how she was determined to make a difference in the lives of the people. The movie will convey many important aspects of Jayalalithaa’s life. It will chronicle her entire journey right from her childhood to how she forayed into films, took on the obstacles and ultimately went on to rule the state. It will include the 75 days she spent in the hospital.”
Reddy also claims he is aware of many unknown facts of Jaya and Sasikala and the film will disclose them. “Sasikala played a major influence in Jayalalithaa’s life and hence SasiLalitha..”
Who have you approached to play the titular roles, we ask. “I have approached Bollywood actress Kajol for Jayalalithaa madam and Amala Paul for the Sasikala role. I have narrated the gist of the script through their respective secretaries. I am hoping to get positive responses soon.”
The first look poster was launched on Sunday creating quite a buzz. One may recall that the filmmaker is awaiting the release of yet another biopic on NTR Lakshmi’s Veeragrandham.
