Bose Venkat on a high!

Bose who has acted in over 60 movies seems to be a contented man these days.

Bose Venkat, who started his film career with a Bharathiraja film Eera Nilam as a baddie has come a long way and his recent antagonist act in KV Anand’s Kavan has brought him into the spotlight. Having worked with the likes of Rajini in Sivaji and Suriya in Singam, Bose who has acted in over 60 movies seems to be a contented man these days.

“I played a full-fledged villain for the first time in Kavan, which is a turning point in my career,” Bose starts his conversation with DC. He adds, “The role was initially meant for Prakash Raj sir. But due to some date issues, he could not do the film. KV Anand sir chose me instead for the powerful character, and I thank him for the trust he had in me. Besides accolades pouring in for my performance, people are approaching me for serious and big roles after watching Kavan”.

Narrating how he bagged the role, he says, “In order to impress Anand sir, I changed my looks and went partly bald too. And it worked”.

About his future projects, Bose says, “Though I have played an upright cop in Suriya–Hari film Singam, the one I am portraying in Karthi’s Dheeran Adhikaram Ondru is totally new-fangled and interesting. It will take me closer to the audiences.”

The actor is also trying out full-fledged comedy in his next, which he considers as an unusual experience.
