Lyca Productions recently quashed rumours on acquiring the theatrical rights of Dhanush’s political thriller Kodi. Now, confirmed sources reveal that Lyca will be associating with the National Award winning actor/producer Dhanush’s banner Wunderbar Films for the third time, after their association for the blockbusters Naanum Rowdy Thaan and Visaaranai.
This time, they are teaming up for Vada Chennai, a dream project of ace filmmaker Vetri Maaran, which features Dhanush and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead. Inside sources also said that the movie would be commencing on May 15, after Dhanush completes Gautam’s Yennai Nokki Paayum Thotta. The source adds that Vada Chennai, which was planned to be shot in two parts initially by the director, will now be shot as a single film.
The gangster flick set in North Chennai is expected to have an ensemble cast as there are many important characters featured in the script. Meanwhile, Dhanush will also be joining his debut Hollywood film’s shoot, which starts in Jaipur after a couple of months.
