Nedunelvaadai to finally hit screens

The film was in the can for two years.

The movie Nedunelvaadai, produced by 50 friends who studied with the director of the film, the debutant Selvakannan, ran into trouble for various reasons. The lead pair of Aditi Menon and Abhi Saravanan left the project in the initial stages after the former complained of harassment by the director. The film was in the can for two years. Now, producer Madan of Escape Artistes Motion Pictures has stepped in to give a new lease of life to the project and the film is all set to hit the marquee on March 15.

A nativity subject, the film explores intense relationship in a family, their Tamil culture and the sacrifice of a grandfather for his grandson with whom he shares a great bond. Poo Ramu, Ilango, Anjali Nair, Ajay Natraj, Mime Gopi, Aindhu Kovilan and Sendhi are part of the cast.

Speaking at the promo event, Selvakannan said, “The film was to get dropped several times. I have never hidden anything from my 50 partners and was updating everything from time to time. Though they do not have any practical knowledge about cinema, they were still cooperative because I was truthful all the time. I am sure Tamil audiences would not let down a film with good content even if it arrives late.”

Madan on his part said, “Under present scenario, it is surprising to note the camaraderie shared by friends. Despite difficulties, Selvakannan has given a quality film.”
