Swathi in Aandavan Kattalai Telugu remake
Director Manikandan’s Aandavan Kattalai, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Ritika Singh, was a realistic film that dealt with several topics, including fake passports and the need for flocking to foreign countries in search of job opportunities.
It has now been confirmed that Aandavan Kattalai is being remade in Telugu by director Chinni Krishna, who has films like Brother of Bommali and Veedu Theda to his credit. Confirming the news, a source says, “The director has roped in debutant Rakshak and actress Swathi Reddy for the movie. The shooting of this yet-to-be-titled movie has commenced. Since the original story is set in Chennai, the Telugu script has been tweaked to suit the taste of audiences.” It is also said that actor Dhanraj will also be playing an important role in the movie.
According to sources, Swathi Reddy was extremely happy when she was offered the role of Ritika Singh’s and immediately agreed to be part of the movie.
Aandavan Kattalai was a sleeper hit in Tamil Nadu. The film released alongside Dhanush’s Thodari — and by the first weekend, became a highly profitable venture, and was screened in the majority of theatres across the state.
