Looks like Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan’s second daughter Akshara Haasan is determined to capture Kollywood, if not B’town! The sibling of Shruti Haasan has now signed for the Vishal-Mysskin flick, Thupparivaalan, in a crucial role.
Prominent Tollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh will be playing the romantic
interest of the Avan Ivan star. As her passion is filmmaking, Akshara Haasan had been turning down several offers to act, including one from Mani Ratnam. However, the acting bug seems to have bitten young Akshara again, after her debut in R. Balki’s Bollywood film Shamitabh.
Recently, she even surprised everyone by signing for Ajith’s 57th project, which is an action-oriented spy thriller. The film, which is tentatively titled Thala 57, will see her play the second lead, and marks her Tamil debut.
Confirming the news, Vishal, who is also producing Thupparivaalan under his home banner, Vishal Film Factory, said, “It is an unusual character and we all know how Mysskin’s characters stand out in his films. Akshara came down for the narration and was happy with the script. Only certain people can handle such a character and Mysskin had a lot of conviction on her.” Incidentally, Shruti Haasan essayed Vishal’s pair in his earlier flick Poojai.
