The director reveals a terrifying experience the crew underwent while shooting.

Bengali actress Meghali who debuted in Tamil with a Vikram starrer Sketch is currently busy with hardcore period horror movie Paandi Muni with Jackie Shroff. Directed by ace Kasthoori Raja, the film is being shot in interior Kotagiri near Kuttanjsami Temple for the last one month. Portions involving Meghali who essays a tribal were canned. The director reveals a terrifying experience the crew underwent while shooting.

Speaking to DC, Kasthoori Raja said, “The story is based on true life incidents that took place seventy years back at a palace in the forest area. So, we chose a place Panakudi Solai in Kotagiri where the 700 years old cave temple is situated. We completed a day’s shoot with Meghali, Vaishnavi, Yashika and Jothi and then only we came to know that women should not enter the temple and people should not wear slippers in the vicinity. We apologized and the next day shifted a venue at a distance from the temple. When Madhu Ambatt was gearing up with lights and we were about to shoot, all of a sudden Meghali started dancing, predicting stuff and advising people in a weird voice. People in the area said that the local Goddess has descended (Saami Aadal) on her. She was uncontrollable. We were perplexed. The villagers had to call few priests who did special rituals to appease the God to bring Meghali under control.”

Yet another thing, which surprised the team, was that the helicam they used for the shoot captured all the shots around the temple, but the operator could not move the remote when he tried to obtain aerial picture just above the temple.
