Music director Santhosh Narayanan must be on cloud nine, for his recently-released Kabali album became a worldwide hit in just a matter of hours. The Irudhi Suttru music director is now busy composing tunes for the Santhanam starrer Server Sundaram and Vijay’s 60th film. An interesting fact is that Santhosh, along with Server Sundaram’s director Anand Balki, have organised a voice hunt called ‘Versatile Singers’ wherein college students from all over Tamil Nadu will be participating.
Talking out this unique promotional strategy, director Anand Balki said, “When I met Santhosh Narayanan for a recording, we wanted a fresh voice for a college song. We don’t want a stereotypical voice, so decided to host a voice hunt. Santhosh was very happy with the contest and has appointed three members to zero-in on a fresh male and female singer. The prerequisite is that the singer shouldn’t have won any reality shows and shouldn’t know what playback singing is. After the selection process is over, the song will be recorded on July 17.”
This song will be shot in SRM College of Engineering on July 28th and this schedule will go on until August 8th. Directed by Anand Balki, this film stars Santhanam and Vaibhavi Shandilya as the lead pair.
