Sanchita's back with a vengance
Sanchita Shetty was last seen in Pizza 2: The Villa and the actor has been missing action post 2013. Now, she’s back with a slew of films (Enkitta Modhadhey, Ennodu Vilayadu, Rum, Love Guru and Devdas Brothers) in different stages of production. Her upcoming film Rum, is a horror film written and directed by Sai Bharath. She plays Riya in the movie and the characterisation is eccentric. Speaking to DC, Sanchita said, “My character is poles apart from what I had played in Soodhu Kavvum. My character Riya was extremely enjoyable to enact on screen.”
When quizzed about how it was it like to be on the sets of a horror film, she said, “I had to shoot for many interesting combination scenes with Hriskesh and Vivekh sir. This movie is high on visual effects and its screenplay is different from Pizza 2. The crew is high on energy so it was fun shooting for the film. Majority of the film was shot at night. I am a morning person, but, after shooting for film Rum, I am kinda used to the schedule.”
On sharing screen space with Hrishikesh and other newcomers, Sanchita added that when she was shooting for Pizza 2: The Villa, Ashok Selvan was a newcomer. For her, it is all about the content and not about the actors — “The actors, today, be it established or new comers, they know the business. They groom themselves before the shoot.” So, where does she see yourself in the coming years? “I can’t predict the future. I did my best for Rum and I am sure the audiences will like my role in the movie. I will continue giving it my best. I am all about content-driven roles,” she concludes.
