Priya Bhavani Shankar is immensely popular for her role in the TV soap Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai, a remake of the Hindi TV show, Ye Hai Mohabbatein. In fact, there is a huge set of fans for the actress, who started watching the drama show just for her. She has also hosted many dance and TV shows.
Though the actress took a break from the small screen a few months ago, her fans now have something to look forward to — Priya is all set to foray into the Tamil industry with a feature film.
The actress, who was busy shooting, took time out to confirm the news, “Yes, it is true that I am acting in a feature film. We will be coming out with an official press announcement in 10 or 15 days. I am not supposed to reveal anything more about the film currently.”
Priya, who has studied engineering and has also completed MBA, stopped acting to pursue her academics. When asked if she had always wanted to venture into films, Priya grins, “When I stopped acting in soaps, I thought that I would end my acting career. But then, when I got this script, I found it good and I am also comfortable working on it. So, I agreed to it.”
