Slip of tongue!
The language issue has come back to haunt actresses imported to south Indian film industries quite often! From being ridiculed for their diction to making faux pas, the poor leading ladies are often caught unawares.
Catherine Tresa was the latest victim at the success meet of her Telugu flick Sarrainodu, when the actress became the butt of a joke unintentionally.
When the anchor asked her about her favourite scene in the film, she decided to say a dialogue instead. “I don’t know how to say the dialogues in Telugu, but I can remember it,” says Catherine.
She then went on to recite in broken Telugu: “Thata theesta kodaka... emira... porla college pakkana bar open chesav… bagayinchude bidda... neekvado support chestandanta... aa sannasiki cheppu gantalopu dukaan bandh avakapothe... station lo padesi... thirigi techi karampodi koorestaroy... (I will peel your skin! How can you open a bar beside a women’s college? Remove it in an hour, otherwise I will peel your skin and take you to the police station and put chilli powder under it).
Everyone present, including actor Allu Arjun, burst out laughing. Everyone except Catherine, who didn’t have a clue what she had just said! Ah well.
