Mamta Mohandas, who was last seen in Thadaiyara Thaakka alongside Arun Vijay is back in K'town and seems to be on a signing spree. Recently we wrote about Mamta being brought on board by Parthiban for Ulle Veliye 2. Now, the pretty lady has been roped in for a Prabhu Deva film. Interestingly, the film is titled Oomai Vizhigal. The movie is directed by young filmmaker Akash Sam and has gone on floors in Ooty. Oomai Vizhigal was made in1986 with the entire film crew comprising of Film Institute students and had Vijayakanth in the lead. The thriller was a sleeper hit.
Mamta says that it is not a remake of the earlier flick and that it has a new concept. Sharing a picture with Prabhu Deva on her Instagram, she wrote, “This is not a remake of the original title back in 1986. I am happy I am back to Tamil after a gap and sharing screen space with dance guru Prabhu Deva.”
Produced by Passion Film Factory, Oomai Vizhigal hasVishnu Ramakrishnan as the DOP. Meanwhile, Prabhu Deva's film Mercury, promoted as a silent thriller with director Karthik Subbaraj has been confirmed to hit the screens on April 13.
