New-age producer/director CV Kumar is known for backing unusual scripts with solid content. He has introduced many young talents to the film industry, like Karthik Subbaraj, Pa Ranjith, NalanKumarasamy, Vijay Sethupathi, and Ashok Selvan. The Gangs of Madras director added, “I liked taking risks right from a young age. I feel people who play safe in life will never progress. Risk has two scenarios, either you will hit the jackpot or lose everything. My father taught me these values, and he is no more.”
After controlling his emotions, he continued, “He gave me so much courage in life. Maayavan was a huge loss and I lost everything. It was my father’s words which helped me come out of the crisis. It’s my passion for good cinema that makes me produce films despite hits and lows.”
