The news of Amala Paul being launched in Bollywood in a Mahesh Bhatt production has been there for a while now. It has just been revealed that the project will be a web series in Hindi, set in the ‘70s and exploring the relationship of a struggling filmmaker and a top actress.

“The magic of a new beginning! Our first web show, a dramatic love story goes on floors,” Bhatt tweeted. It is directed by Pushpdeep Bhardwaj and features Tahir Raj Bhasin and Amrita Puri besides Amala Paul.

“And we roll! Excited to be a part of this journey with the perfect recipe for a dramatic love story set during the ‘70s Bollywood, what more could I have asked for my Bollywood and digital debut,” Amala added.

While she is tight-lipped about her role, close sources say she will be essaying B’town’s top star Parveen Babi. Bhatt is reportedly aiming to make a series based on his rumoured romance with the late actress.

Amala has action adventure Adho Andha Paravai Pole ready for release and has Cadaver and Aadu Jeevitham in Malayalam and Telugu remake of Hindi web series Lust Stories.
