Gautham Karthik was launched with much fanfare in the Mani Ratnam film Kadal and despite his good looks and acting abilities, he is yet to deliver a solid hit. However, his kitty is full with half a dozen flicks — some of them complete and ready to hit the marquee.
Recently we wrote that Gautham signed a film Ivan Thanthiran with Kannan and now he has added yet another movie to his list. The new film has been titled Hara Hara Mahadevaki. For the first time, Nikki Galrani has been cast opposite Gautham. Naan Kadavul Rajhendran has been roped in for a crucial role as well. Directed by Santhosh Peter Jayakumar — a former assistant of Engeyum Eppodhum Saravanan — the movie, which is bankrolled by Thangam Cinemas, went on floors with a formal pooja recently.
“It is a slapstick comedy and has a city-based subject. It will be shot in and around Chennai. Nikki plays a college girl,” says Santhosh but remains tightlipped about Gautham’s character. “That’s the suspense,” he quips.
Also, the title is in Hindi which may come as a hindrance while applying for tax exemption. A close source reveals that the makers have a different plan for it, which will be disclosed at a later stage. KE Gnanavel Raja will be releasing HHM.
