Child artiste-turned-hero Mahendran (who has worked in more than 100 films and won awards twice) is immensely talented, but yet to see the kind of success he deserves. He hopes to break the jinx with Veera Selva’s Nadodi Kanavu, which has a quirky subject. Actress Supraja has been brought on board as the heroine.
Talking about the film, Selva says, “The usual norm in villages is to settle disputes by the panchayat system and punish those who have been found guilty. If the hero and heroine from different castes fall in love, they’re outcast! But in my story, instead of punishing the lead pair who are in love, the entire village vacates the place. I have narrated the reason in an interesting manner. Mahendran has done a great job.” Sabesh-Murali has composed the music.
