Jackson Durai director announces his next
Having made his debut with the crime thriller Burma, director Dharani Dharan has gone on to cash-in on the horror comedy trend. His second film, Jackson Durai, starring the father-son duo of Sathyaraj and Sibiraj, has fared well at the box office.
Now, the director is all set to helm his third film starring Metro Sirish, which will revolve around a murder-mystery. This film is jointly produced by Vasan and Burma Talkies (his home banner).
Opening up to DC, Dharani Dharan says, “This film focuses on a murder that we see reported in the news every now and then. Even though my script is based on a real incident, we have manipulated it to package the flick as a commercial thriller. This untitled film will be intense, but it will also include several commercial elements.”
Speaking about the casting of this film, he adds, “When I saw Metro, I felt that actor Sirish would fit the bill perfectly. We are still on the look-out to finalise the heroine and supporting cast.”
Shooting of this film will begin in December and the director is planning to wrap it up in five months. A majority of the portions will be shot in Chennai.
The Burma director makes it a point to try out something different with each film — “With every film, I want to show my versatility. I believe that we all learn something new with each film. So, my third film will not bear any resemblance to my earlier movies.”
