Mumbai: Director Mohan Raja’s 'Thani Oruvan' redefined his entire career and brought him into the limelight. The film, starring Jayam Ravi and Arvind Swami, shattered box-office records, and was also remade in Telugu as Dhruva with Ram Charan playing the lead. Now, the film is all set to be remade in Hindi by director Sabbir Khan, who has helmed films such as 'Heropanti' and 'Baaghi'.
The characterisation of the lead characters — Ravi and Arvind Swami, is the major advantage of an engaging cop-thriller like Thani Oruvan. While names of Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan were doing the rounds, recent reports suggest that young heroes Siddharth Malhotra and Arjun Kapoor are in talks to play the lead roles. However, it is still unclear about whose role would Sid and Arjun reprise. It will be interesting to see how the Hindi version of Thani Oruvan pans out.
An official confirmation regarding the cast and crew of the Hindi remake is expected to be announced soon.
