Director Arivazhagan, a former assistant to Shankar, is known for his sensible films like Eeram and the recent hit, Kuttram 23. The director is now back with a women-centric action thriller. And guess who he brings on board to play the lead protagonist? It’s none other than veteran Malayalam actress and ex-wife of actor Dileep, Manju Warrier, who made a sensational comeback with How Old Are You? Although Manju has given her nod, she is yet to sign on dotted line, as she is working out her dates since Arivazhagan wants bulk dates.

When contacted, Arivazhagan confirmed that he had approached Manju for his next project. “It is a subtle action thriller with a female protagonist in the lead. The highlight will be the film’s realistic approach and emotional take on life. Like in my earlier films, through this venture people would be able to relate to the story.”
On choosing Manju, he says, “It is a performance- oriented role of a bold and strong lady; there are very few artistes who are capable of pulling off such characters. I have watched most of Manju Warrier’s films in Malayalam and I felt that she has the capability to do justice to my script.”

Arivazhagan is happy that the Patram actress was very receptive of his script when he narrated it to her. “She was totally convinced with my narration and said that she has lot of confidence in me and on my script as well,” reveals the Vallinam director.

About the male lead, he says, “The story revolves around Manju’s character. We haven’t finalised other cast members and we will be able to do it only after Manju ma’am shares her dates. As for the technical crew, Thaman will be scoring the music and Bhaskaran, who did my earlier flicks, will be behind the camera.”
As of now, the director is fine tuning the story and dialogues, and it looks like the film will go on floors by the end of this year.
